We're having a FUNdraiser to raise awareness for children with cerebral palsy (CP), like our three year old son Jacob. The money we raise during this fundraiser will be split between the March of Dimes and Reaching for the Stars Foundations. Our kids are going to have kids too some day, and we want to do everything we can to make sure they arrive safe and healthy. When babies are born premature, they are at a higher risk to be diagnosed with CP. Unfortunately, Jacob was diagnosed with CP just before turning two. The money we raise on April 17th will help fund research to prevent premature birth, treat and cure cerebral palsy. Both of the foundations we are supporting are helping to fund current research projects that Jacob will personally benefit from, but they are in need of more funding to keep them going.
Raffle prizes for the whole family!
What's all the quackin' about?
"We need to show the world we care about Cerebral Palsy. This means letting medical institutions, the media, lawmakers, the general population, neighbors and friends know this is an important public health issue. If we don’t show that this is important, why should anyone else? If we don’t speak up about Cerebral Palsy Awareness, no one else will. It's our job as parents of a child living with cerebral palsy to speak up. I’m not sure about the past, but one thing I know for sure is that we are changing this for the future."
- Cynthia Frisina, Executive Director, Founder Reaching for the Stars: A Foundation of Hope for Children with Cerebral Palsy
